The Ghost.

I am Sarra. The Ghost is the arrangement.

I have spent years reading how sharp people think. Now I write it down so that somebody else gets the credit.

Why a ghost

The name is the promise.

If you can hear me in it,I have done the job badly.

A ghostwriter who leaves fingerprints is a ghostwriter with an ego problem. The whole craft is subtraction: getting my own habits, my own rhythms and my own favourite phrases out of the way until what is left on the page is you, only tidier and braver.

So there is no house style here for you to be poured into. There is your style, which already exists, mostly in conversation, and mostly unrecorded. My job is to catch it before it evaporates.

The mask is practical too. Most of what I write is published under other people's names and covered by agreements I intend to keep. I can tell you what I fixed. I cannot tell you for whom.

The chair, the lamp, the typewriter. No mystery.

The years

Not a career.A long apprenticeship in listening.

How I work

You talk.I take it down. You approve it.

There is no portal to learn, no brief to fill in, no content calendar for you to maintain on a Sunday night. You send a voicenote when the thought arrives. That is the whole of your side of it.

What comes back is finished. Not a draft for you to fix, not an outline for you to flesh out. If it needs work from you, I have handed it over too early.

House rules
  • Nothing publishes without you reading it first.
  • We name the problem, the stakes and the room. Never the client.
  • No claim goes on the page that you would not make out loud, to their face.
  • If I cannot hear you in the draft, it does not go to you.
  • The library is yours. It does not leave when I do.

I am not building an audience for you. I am building a record of how you think.

Who this suits

People who are better in personthan they are on paper.

You stay in the work. You come out of the writing.

You have read enough about me.Come and talk about you.

Bring the thing you cannot get onto the page. 45 minutes. We break it.

No deck. No pitch at the end unless you ask for one.
