The short version: before I've started, you get your money back. After I've delivered, you don't, unless what arrived wasn't what was described. Here it is properly.
If you bought as a consumer rather than for a business, you have 14 days from ordering to change your mind for any reason at all, and I have to refund you. That right sits above everything else on this page and nothing here reduces it.
There's 1 catch and it's in the law, not in my terms. If you asked me to start inside those 14 days, and the checkout asks you to confirm exactly that, then once the work is finished and delivered the right is spent. Part way through, you cancel and pay for the part that's done.
Want the full 14 days untouched? Say so and I'll start on day 15. It costs nothing but the wait. Section 4 of the terms spells this out.
Business buyers don't get the 14 days by law. They get most of this anyway, because arguing about £250 is a worse use of my week than refunding it.
Worth separating, because they get confused.
If it doesn't sound like you, it doesn't ship. That's the promise on every page and it holds. Rewrites are the work, not an extra, and there's no limit on them and no charge for them. A draft isn't finished until you'd say it out loud without reading it.
So the first move is never a refund. Tell me what's wrong and I'll do it again. If we get to the point where it still isn't right and neither of us can see a way through, then it's a refund, and I'd rather refund you than have something with your name on it that isn't you.
Email [email protected] and say you want a refund. Any clear sentence does it. No form, no reason required, and I'm not going to ask you for one or try to talk you out of it.
I'll answer within 5 working days. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of me being told, and usually a lot sooner than that. Your bank then takes however long your bank takes.
If you think I've got this wrong, section 12 of the terms has the complaints route.
